India ranked 1st for the cheapest mobile data price in the world.
India has the cheapest mobile data prices in the world due to the price war between the telecom companies. It costs $0.26 for 1 GB data in India.

Telecom industry in India was shaken up by the entry of Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio. It raised the competition and forced other telcos to cut down the price of data tariffs that resulted in a price war. The price war still continues in the country.
According to a survey conducted by Cable.co.uk, India has the cheapest mobile data price in the world. Cable.co.uk collected 6,313 data tariff plans from 230 countries between 23 October and 28 November 2018 of the world and analyzed it.
India holds the first position, while Kyrgyzstan ranked 2nd (very close to the price of India) with an average cost of $0.27 for 1 GB data and Kazakhstan ranked 3rd with an average cost of $0.49 for 1 GB data. On the other hand, Zimbabwe is the most expensive country for mobile data, where the average cost of 1 GB is $75.20, which is 289 times higher than India.
Ten out of the top 20 cheapest countries are in Asia including India's neighbor countries Bhutan($1.25, Rank 18), Sri Lanka($0.78, Rank 7), Myanmar($0.87, Rank 9) and Bangladesh($0.99, Rank 13).
According to the Economic Times, before the launch of Jio, a 1 GB of 4G data pack was available around Rs. 250 and now Rs. 48. About 80% fall in mobile data prices.
