Flipkart may offer video contents soon
Flipkart is planning to launch its video streaming platform soon.
The Indian e-commerce giant, Flipkart, is going to launch its own video streaming platform said Kalyan Krishnamurthy in an interview by BloombergQuint. Earlier Flipkart's strong competitor Amazon had offered TV/Movies with its 'Prime membership'. He said that online shoppers are usually young persons, which watches a lot of videos, the video streaming service will definitely attract more users to its platform.
Krishnamurthy said that the company will look into the partnership & acquisition with other players. With this Flipkart wants to take on its strong competitor Amazon. Video streaming market is rapidly growing in India, it is expected to reach $5 billion by 2023. Flipkart will definitely face the competition from other players like Netflix, Hotstar, ALT Balaji and ZEE5.
It is noticeable that Flipkart will not build its own platform like Amazon. Flipkart may partnership with Hotstar.
