Google plans to launch Duo video calling service for web.

Till now Duo is available through Android Play Store and iOS App Store for mobiles only. But now Google is planning to launch a web version of Duo.

Since Google is continuously promoting its video calling service app Duo. In addition to it, Google will launch Duo (video calling service by Google) for web as reported by 9TO5Google. Till now it is only available in the form of application for Android and iOS. Google has previously offered Messages and Allo (now Google has shut it entirely).

With this Google's Duo will stand in the competition with Microsoft's Skype which is popular and already comes with the web version.

Google Duo uses Google account to authenticate, it seems like that the web version will also authenticate via this method. While Allo and Messages used QR code-based system. According to 9TO5Google, there is not any evidence of such a system being built on Duo. Web version is not only the big feature coming to Duo, but Google Duo is also testing group video call, low light mode (this will let you chat in darkness) etc.

Recently group video calling feature has been introduced to WhatsApp.

The web version of Duo will support Google's Chrome and other major browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Apple's Safari. It is not clear how much features and functions of the current Duo app will available for the web version at launch.
