Difference between Stock Android and Android One and Android Go.

There are three formats of Android: Stock, One and Go but very little people know about the difference between them. Let's see.

Before reading further you should know that Android is an Open Source software, anyone can make changes to the source code. Most of the smartphone brands make changes to the source code and wrap it in a new pack (Samsung's Touch Wiz, HTC Sense etc.) called Custom OS.

First, see Stock Android also known as Pure Android. It is the simplest format of Android that is released by Google without any changes or editing. There are some benefits of having Stock Android in your device like you may not have to wait longer for updates as device manufacturer forward the updates directly from Google (there are no changes required). Device manufacturer is responsible for the updates. One more benefit is you get rid of Bloatware. You may get some apps from the device manufacturer.

What is Bloatware?
Bloatware is unnecessary software that takes storage on your ROM. These are installed at the time of editing to the source code of Android. Usually, these are uninstallable.

Second, Android One. It was launched by Google in 2014 to target entry-level smartphones but now it is offered by mid-range smartphones like Nokia 7.1, Nokia 5.1 etc. Android One is as same as Stock Android but the updates and security patches you get is directly from Google, in other words, Google gives updates and security patches for Android One devices. It is not in Android's Open Source Program, means no one can edit the source code.

Benefits of Android One
1. Fast Android updates
2. Security Patches
3. No Bloatware
4. Pure Android experience

Third, Android Go. It is made for the low-end smartphones which have less storage capacity. The size of OS is lesser than regular Android. Comes with Google's Go apps like Maps Go, YouTube Go, Gmail Go etc. which are also small sized apps. Google doesn't take the responsibility of updates.
