What is SAR value of a smartphone, how it is related to your health.
We all check specifications like Storage, Camera, Battery, Display etc. but most of us do not check is SAR value.
Smartphones have become an important part of our life, living a day without a smartphone is just like living in prison. Lakhs of smartphones are sold in India daily, online and offline. We check many details like Storage, Processor, Camera, Battery, Display etc. before buying a smartphone. But we do not check is SAR value of a smartphone.
What is a SAR value?
SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) value is a measure of electromagnetic power absorbed by the human body per unit mass of tissue radiated from cellphones and mobile tower. It is expressed in units of Watt per Kilogram (W/Kg).
It is good to have a smartphone with lesser SAR value. Every country had set a limit of SAR value for smartphones in their region. Indian Government had set this limit to 1.6 W/Kg. A high level of SAR may have bad effects on you.
Parameters that can affect SAR:
- Type of modulation (CDMA, TDMA etc.)
- Type of radio service (cellular, WLAN etc.)
- Physical Orientation (near head, near face etc.)
